The noted national pianist Joseph Kalichstein will perform on Wednesday, June 14th at 7 p.m. in the Church Sanctuary.
Mr. Kalichstein is on the faculty of the Juilliard School. He serves as the Chamber Music Advisor to the Kennedy Center and is the Artistic Director of the Center’s Fortas Chamber Music Concerts. Prior to winning the Leentritt Award, he had won the Young Concert Artists Auditions and as a result gave a heralded New York recital debut, followed by an invitation from Leonard Bernstein to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with the New York Philharmonic in a nationally televised concert on CBS.
Mr. Kalichstein is brought to Westerly by Music on the Hill, a non-profit organization started approximately 42 years ago at St. Luke’s Church in East Greenwich, R.I. It has grown over the years to now involve a Classical Music Festival held in June of each year. It conducts approximately six to seven concerts, usually held in area churches in E. Greenwich, Warwick, Cranston and Providence.
Music on the Hill is excited to bring this noted musician to Dunn’s Corners Church. Tickets are $25. Students with ID are admitted free. Tickets may be purchased at www.BrownPaperTickets.com Search for Music on the Hill . Or use the order form in the program booklets available in the Church office.
Visit www.MusicOnTheHillri.org for a listing and description of the other concerts for the Tenth Anniversary Festival.
