All are invited to our June 2 workshop supporting our sewing mission: “Quilts Beyond Borders.“ We will need your hands for ironing and cutting fabric, and sewers and sewing machines for sewing straight stitches. Hope to see you there.
Bring your sewing machine and basic supplies; come to cut fabric, iron, sew or make kits and join us for a light lunch.
The Deacons of Dunns Corners Church will serve dinner on Saturday, June 2nd, at 5pm for 30+ people at the WARM Homeless Shelter, Spruce Street, Westerly.
Sign up on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall to bring a dish. Deliver the dish to the church kitchen on Saturday morning. (Perishable items go in the refrigerator). The Deacons will serve the meal Saturday evening at the WARM Shelter.

Please join us for a Pancake Breakfast on the second Saturday of each month, from 8 to 10am. The next breakfast will be held on Saturday, May 12th.
There is no charge but donations will be gratefully accepted to provide funds for the local Family Housing Support. Working in collaboration with the WARM Center, we provide emergency housing to meet the most basic needs of families with children.
The Mission Committee of Dunns Corners Church hosts a Pancake Breakfast on the second Saturday of each month. Breakfasts at other churches are held as follows:
First Saturday of each month from 8 to 10am at the Cross Mills Baptist Church, 4403 Old Post Road, Charlestown.
Third Saturday of each month from 8 to 10am at Babcock Presbyterian Church, 25 Maxson Street, Ashaway.
Presbyterian Women will next meet on Monday,May 14th at Noon in Fellowship Hall.
We will have our “share a sandwich” lunch and after that, we hope to travel to the Babcock Smith House for a tour. This is our last meeting until September.
We hope that you will join us for a time of fellowship, fun, favorite refreshments and learning about the endless possibilities for mission work in our world. Hope to see you then!
Julie Eberly was our guest speaker at our April meeting. Julie has been involved with mission work in Guatemala for many years, and she shared some of the details of the work there.
Julie is affiliated with a medical team and they performed many daily surgeries, which helped to extend the lives of the patients who came to them. She also shared some slides of the location and the smiling faces of those who had received treatment. Thank you to Julie for her wonderful presentation.
It is our goal to get more members involved in the planning of the bazaar. WWe urge you to come to our next meeting on Tuesday, May 22nd at 6 pm in the Choir Room and see the opportunities to become involved.
At our April meeting we discussed the following:
- The need for a publicity team to advertise the bazaar.
- The need for a decorating team to decorate Fellowship Hall before we set up to make it more festive and attractive to shoppers.
- We will be looking into making scrubs and soaps. We will keep you updated on workshop dates.
- We will be putting up a basket donation sheet on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall. Wewill be accepting donations now so that we can reach our goal of 40 baskets for the bazaar.
