A Deacon in the Presbyterian Church is an individual elected and ordained to witness the love of Jesus Christ through compassion and service. They are called to serve the Church and care for those in need, both within the church community and beyond, including the sick, poor, and those in distress. 

The Deacons volunteer to serve the church and our community in numerous capacities, including:

  • Fellowship on Sunday mornings
  • Transportation help
  • Free Luncheons for those over 70 (the Diamonds among us)
  • Communion Preparation
  • Memorial Collations (funeral receptions)
  • Shut-in Visitations
  • Angel tree (Christmas gifts for needy children)
  • Mitten Tree (Winter collection of mittens and hats for needy)
  • Sunday flower delivery to shut-ins
  • Monthly WARM Homeless Shelter dinners*
  • Emergency meals
  • Cards and visits for those who are sick or recovering from illness
