Teens in Grades 7-12 are invited to join Teen Time on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. The DCCCP Teen Team is a youth group geared towards acceptance, inspiration and fun—serving God, our community, and each other. We play games, take trips, and share the ups and downs of life.

The teens participate in the Montreat Youth Conference in North Carolina. This is a unique gathering of young people from all over the country who come for a week of study, worship, and recreation.

Over eight hundred youth gather for a week at the retreat center, located on 2,500 acres of protected wilderness.

Our teens participate in Worship several times a year. They may read a bible passage or prayer. Or they may lead the entire worship service with prayers, readings and an inspirational message about a youth trip or activity.
Service to the community is important for spiritual growth. Each winter our youth gather an offering for our local food pantries during their “Souperbowl Sunday” collection. The teens also enjoy helping with the younger kids during the annual Christmas pageant or Easter Egg Hunt.

The children of the church love it when the teens help with the Easter Egg Hunt.

Confirmation is an important step in the life of our youth. Teens will meet for several weeks with the Pastor to learn more about the Christian walk and will develop their own statement of faith.
Confirmation is not about “salvation”—the confirmands have already been saved in Jesus Christ by the grace of God. It is not about “joining the church”—people are joined to the church at baptism and live into the community every time we gather at the table.

Confirmation is about personally growing in the Spirit and living a life that increases good in the world.
